The GIOCHI Friday Night League runs 4 divisions across 17 weeks, June through October. Each division has its own format tailored to roster size and competitive level.
Below is the full season structure for each division, plus the league-wide points and tiebreaker rules.
Two-stage format. A 9-week round-robin builds the table, then the league splits into a top-6 group (30s A) and a bottom-4 group (30s B) for a 5-week second round.
Top tier over-40 division. A double round-robin (each team plays every opponent twice) determines seeding for a full 8-team playoff bracket ending in the season final.
A single 14-team over-40 division running August 7 – October 2. The 14 teams are seeded and snake-drafted into two balanced groups of 7. Each group plays a full single round-robin over Weeks 10–16 — every team plays every other team in its group exactly once (6 games each). In their off week, teams don't sit out — the two resting teams meet in the 🛡 Shield Cup crossover match (Group A vs Group B, total goals decide a tied series).
Every group finisher from 1st to 4th advances to a knockout cup: the top 2 per group enter the 🏆 GIOCHI Super Cup, while 3rd and 4th place enter the 🏆 GIOCHI Amici Cup. Both cups play Semifinals in Week 17 and their Finals in Week 18 — a championship double-header at OSA TURF on October 2.
